Symbolized by an open cobra mouth, the doors of Transfert open onto a “free area of art and culture”, in the middle of an urban desert. The dream started with a blank sheet of paper, it is now very real on the wasteland of the former slaughterhouses of Rezé: a people installs a utopian city and invents ways of living together. This ephemeral and mutant village is, for the moment, inhabited by totems in metal containers, a beached boat, colored marquees or a manned bus… Transfer will evolve until 2022! In the meantime, we offer outdoor art, concerts, shows or workshops, but also food and drink and lots of conviviality. From the soccer field to the picnic table, including assistance with bicycle repair, everyone can find their place there even when nothing is happening.Enough to invent the public places of tomorrow!

La Cantine is colored by the Nantes collective Appelle-moi papa, which designed the La Colline playground for all ages , a landscape in volume taken straight from one of their drawing boards! Its round and generous shapes evoke a whimsical and highly colored elsewhere, invite to climb, roll, slide, play, bask, etc.

The question refers to Steve Maia Caniço, a 24-year-old teaching assistant who disappeared during the Fete de la Musique in Nantes in June. Thousands of people head to Nantes every year for the France-wide festival at the end of June, but this year trouble flared at the Nantes event. At around 4.30am police turned up at the Quai Wilson to demand that the music stop and people go home. Clashes occurred, tear gas was fired, police charged, panic ensured and in the mayhem several people ended up in the River Loire.

In all fourteen people fell into the water and Steve – who according to his family could not swim – has not been seen since that night.
