Antarctica City Mc Murdo Map VR
That’s right there’s a city on Antarctica, Come with us to the coldest and harshest continent on earth to visit a city thriving within the barron landscape, this city started off with a single "discovery hut" by the British explorer Robert Scott in 1902 and has blossomed into the main research city you see before you as of today. At one point in the 60's it even had it's own nuclear reactor until the reactor started to show hairline cracks and leaks in the early 70's, after that it had to rely on unclean methods to power for it's population like diesel generators to provide power to just over a thousand inhabitants, during the winter those numbers plummet as you need some real grit to manage out here in the winter months.

People have been living here since the U.S.A taken it over in an inauguration celebration from New Zealand, the u.s.a making it's first facility only in 1956 and full ownership of Mc Murdo in 1957 the changes happened fast but not always for the better, as New Zealand have routinely criticized U.S.A projects for not clearing away waste or for not being environmentally friendly and staying with the "Enviromental Antarctic Treaty" guidelines due to the unclean methods they would employ or lack thereof, i'm sure they must have been confused and did a “double take” when the U.S.A decided to bring a nuclear reactor to antarctica in the late 60's, it's clean energy but just as many disagree as agree, especially if you happen to be Japanese or Ukrainian

Today McMurdo has 100 buildings a science and engineering Center it has a Wells Fargo bank, two ATMs, logistics maintenance, construction and Aquarium areas, it used to have a nuclear Reactor, it has a local airport, fully functioning roads, graveyards, hydroponic greenhouses, Military sealift, ships, container docks, silos, trucks tractors and everything associated to construction like that, it has a population of over a thousand and steadily climbing, we're also guessing it has a bar or two, this really is a city on the continent of Antarctica i sure would love to visit it in person, it would be quite the adventure
Have a walk around the biological center

There also been many numerous documentaries filmed around or about this area as it's a really interesting area considering it's geographical location like the documentary called “Encounters at the End of the World“ and "Antarctica: A Year on Ice" where they get the opinions of the local residents of Mc Murdo, the Mc Murdo residents and scientists had some global recognition in 2003 when they staged an anti war protest of the 2003 invasion of Iraq
Anywhere in Antarctica is interesting to look at because it looks so alien, but seeing a city and thriving towns over Antarctica are always interesting to see. The Local airport is slightly East (right) on the map, you can see it zoomed out from the geography in Arctic wintry conditions

Fun Fact:- They have a little Before & After (global warming) shots when you zoom in & out with the scroll on the North West ridge coast line pan, or go there and navigate for entertainment, for people who don't believe in Global Warming zoom in, it's an interesting exercise. This is an Arctica monitoring station after-all among alot of other companies it's remarkably detailed around this area of Antarctica, there must be some interest with this area and telescope surveillance as one subject out of thousands, the oil companies do not like telescope surveillance (therefor Nasa) and tried to lobby Ted Cruz to cut their funding almost as if it were a direct threat from the Trillionaire brothers known as the Koch brothers a very (bible thumping) powerful big oil family that even at some point tried to sue each other out of greed and even held one of the other weaker brother held ransom over one of them for being gay, this was seen by a direct provocation from the Trillionaire elite systems sent by a puppet politician that to stay away, but Nasa is data, not opinion, you can't bribe evidential proof, big oil hate the idea we can do this
