The hospital has very spacious areas as i'm sure to provide comfort for those working here rather than to provide space for inmates, during the 2015 tour there was an Alcatraz art show ongoing so some areas literally have spotlights on them as you'll notice the spotlight cameras lying around.

I'm not bashing the modern renovation but personally i'm a fan of brutalism architecture on certain themes Aberdeen in Scotland main theme was of that controversial approach so it has promoters. Personally speaking i'm a fan of Brutalism when we're talking historic prison yards, the modern renovation of the 2020's takes it away and i may be somewhat of a minority but i prefer the brutalist version stashed here in 2013 for you to enjoy.

The main big house known as the Alcatraz cell house was where the majority of the prisoners were housed this was where most of the traffic of Alcatraz during it's prison days occurred due to the unpredicatable dangerous weather even if they weren't housed as prisoners this would be an area well trafficked so most of the prisoner workers also here as it was during the military era the military used this area as well trafficked from the elements of the weather on this island.

This area was called D block and this was where inmates served solitary as the door at the end of the corridor is adjacent to the library so it was routinely a quiet place in Alactraz even though it wasn't really that far-away from the main Cell house as the main Cell house is also connected past that same door.

Industries building is what it sounds like however during 2015 Artist Ai Weiwei Ai was conducting an art show and while much of alctraz was preserved that year to exhibit the art show it was more evident within the industries building that there was indeed an art show on location of 2015, we'll leave full contact information of the artist for people needing more clarification of the artist in question he was still in Jail in China at the time of the exhibition.
